To Postpone Appointments to the Park and Recreation 9 <br />Committee to Allow Time to Determine Whether There are Other Applications. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Council Member Stigney asked whether the opening was posted subsequent to the new opening last 12 <br />week. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Interim City Administrator Ericson ind icated that the opening had not been posted since last week. 15 <br /> 16 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 17 <br /> 18 <br />6. JUST AND CORRECT CLAIMS 19 <br /> 20 <br />Council Member Marty asked for clarification on Check Number 110202 for vehicle repair as it 21 <br />seemed high. 22 <br /> 23 <br />Finance Director Hansen indicated that the amount was for a repair on the Ford 1800 which is a large 24 <br />truck to repair an oil leak at the rear of the engine. 25 <br /> 26 <br />Council Member Stigney indicated he felt the City could do without its subscription to the Wall Street 27 <br />Journal for $199.00 for the year. 28 <br /> 29 <br />Finance Director Hansen indicated the reason the City gets the Wall Street Journal is so that he could 30 <br />read it and have a better handle on what is going on in the business world to assist him with investing the 31 <br />City’s funds. 32 <br /> 33 <br />Council Member Stigney said he takes exception to that comment, as he does not think Staff is investing 34 <br />City funds on a daily basis. 35 <br /> 36 <br />Finance Director Hansen indicated he does not invest on a daily basis but he needs to have an idea of 37 <br />what is going on in the busine ss world. 38 <br /> 39 <br />Council Member Stigney suggested using the Internet and the local papers. He then suggested rather 40 <br />than reading it Staff could go out on the Internet to obtain the information. 41 <br /> 42
