Mounds View City Council March 10, 2003
Regular Meeting Page 7

1
Ms. Burg indicated that there are six different associations and explained each of them. 2
3
Ms. Burg indicated there would be a couple more licenses to be purchased by the City for staff at 4
the golf course. One is an electrical license and the other is a pesticide applicator’s license. 5
6
Council Member Marty asked whether New Brighton had this many memberships. 7
8
Ms. Burg indicated that the only one New Brighton does not have is the United States Golf 9
Association but said they do not have PGA and are not required to have the United States Golf 10
Association membership. 11
12
Council Member Stigney indicated he had asked at the last meeting whether there are more 13
memberships this year than last year. 14
15
Ms. Burg indicated that she deferred to the budget as the amount for memberships went down. 16
She then said that she would look into what memberships the course had last year. 17
18
Council Member Marty asked for clarification on Check Number 110417 for the 19
Hammerschmidt matter for $973.80. 20
21
City Attorney Riggs indicated there were two independent actions still pending, one where the 22
arbitration matter was handled by Julie Fleming Wolfe and has a decision pending. The other is 23
an unemployment insurance claim matter that was appealed and may be before Council 24
sometime in April or May for discussion dependent upon what the claimant and Commissioner 25
do. 26
27
Council Member Stigney asked if both the termination and unemployment were being appealed 28
by Mr. Hammerschmidt. 29
30
City Attorney Riggs indicated that both matters were appealed. 31
32
Council Member Marty indicated he had asked for further information from Ms. Flemming 33
Wolfe and asked whether that was provided. 34
35
Interim City Administrator Ericson indicated he had not received any further information. 36
37
Council Member Marty asked for clarification of Check Number 110454 for $1,626. 38
39
Finance Director Hansen indicated that was an expense for the banquet facility for materials to 40
update and renovate some decorating of the facility. 41
42
Council Member Marty suggested that before anybody does anything else they should seek 43
Council approval. He then asked what the monetary value would be before coming to Council 44
for approval. 45
