<br />The City of Mounds View currently does not have a usable camcorder for its videotaping <br />needs. With spring and summer arriving, there are many events upcoming that will be <br />videotaped. There may be situations where a camcorder may be needed over several <br />consecutive days. Such a situation makes it impractical to continue using the camcorders <br />from CTV, since about an hour of staff time is involved in every checkout and return. Also, <br />CTV camcorders will also be in high demand during spring and summer, limiting their <br />availability. Having our own camcorder will give us the ability to shoot at anytime on a <br />moment’s notice. <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendation: Staff recommends the local purchase of the Sony DSR250 Camcorder <br />Package from ALPHA for $5,611.49 plus expenditure on related accessories not to exceed <br />a sum total of $6,000.00 <br /> <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Kenneth Gammell <br />
