Resolution No. 6053 Authorizing a Contract Award to Repair the 4 Gymnasium Floor at the Community Center. 5 6 Public Works Director Lee indicated that lightening struck the roof of the Community Center 7 causing a hole that allowed water to damage the gymnasium floor. He then recommended 8 approval of the contract for repairing the floor. 9 10 City Attorney Vose indicated that quotes were sought rather than bids as the amount was below 11 the statutory amount requiring bids. 12 13 Council Member Marty asked whether the City Hall claim was being included with the claim at 14 the Community Center. 15 16 Public Works Director Lee indicated that they are looking into lumping them into one claim but 17 they are not sure yet if that will work. 18 19 Council Member Stigney asked whether the roof patch would be permanent or temporary. 20 21 Public Works Director Lee indicated that it would be a permanent repair. 22 23 MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Gunn. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 6053, a 24 Resolution Authorizing a Contract Award to Repair the Gymnasium Floor at the Community 25 Center. 26 27 Council Member Quick asked when this was first noticed. 28 29 Public Works Director Lee indicated there was a storm on July 1, 2003 and the day after the 30 storm the water damage was noticed. 31 32 Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 33 34 H. Consideration of Resolution 6061 Authorizing Retainer Agreement with 35 Hughes & Costello to Provide Mounds View with Prosecution Legal Services. 36 37 MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Stigney. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 6061, a 38 Resolution Authorizing Retainer Agreement with Hughes & Costello to Provide Mounds View 39 with Prosecution Legal Services. 40 41 Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 42 43
