Mounds View City Council September 8, 2003 <br />Regular Meeting Page 14 <br /> <br />commented that the City is now in a situation where changes the state passed two or three years 1 <br />ago have taken affect and there are no other changes on the books waiting to take effect. 2 <br /> 3 <br />City Administrator Ulrich handed out information from Spring Lake Park accounting for the 4 <br />money savings by shutting down for one week over the fourth of July. He then said they saved a 5 <br />little over $20,000. He further commented that the City would make every effort to inform 6 <br />residents of how the increase will affect them. 7 <br /> 8 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Gunn. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 6091, 9 <br />Authorizing Certification of a Proposed General Fund Budget and Property Tax Levy for Fiscal 10 <br />Year 2004. 11 <br /> 12 <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 13 <br /> 14 <br />F. Resolution No. 6092, Establishing Public Hearing Dates for the Proposed 15 <br />General Fund Budget and Property Tax Levy for Fiscal Year 2004. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Finance Director Hansen indicated the City Council needs to establish dates for the truth-in-18 <br />taxation public hearings and he recommends December 1, 2003 with the continuation hearing 19 <br />being set for December 8, 2003 to coincide with the regular Council meeting. 20 <br /> 21 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Stigney/Marty. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 6092, 22 <br />Establishing Public Hearing Dates for the Proposed General Fund Budget and Property Tax Levy 23 <br />for Fiscal Year 2004. 24 <br /> 25 <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 26 <br /> 27 <br />G. Resolution No. 6072, Authorizing the Purchase of a Sprinkler Monitor for 28 <br />Mounds View City Hall. 29 <br /> 30 <br />Community Development Director Ericson indicated this item was before Council at the last 31 <br />meeting and Staff was asked to research whether the automatic dialer system could be utilized to 32 <br />contact Ramsey County Dispatch of a water event at City Hall. He then indicated Staff 33 <br />researched the matter and Ramsey County Dispatch requires a call from a person so that 34 <br />necessitates the approval of a monitoring company. 35 <br /> 36 <br />Director Ericson indicated that there is a shortage of telephone lines so Staff will be working 37 <br />with the monitoring company to determine whether an underutilized line could be used for the 38 <br />monitoring system. 39 <br /> 40 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Stigney. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 6072, a 41 <br />Resolution Authorizing the Purchase of a Sprinkler Monitor for Mounds View City Hall. 42 <br /> 43 <br />Council Member Marty thanked Staff for the report. 44 <br /> 45
