He <br />worked in this capacity in the Parks Division for two full years – a total of 3035 <br />hours. <br /> <br />On May 31, 2000, Pete Szurek was hired as a regular full-time employee in the <br />Storm Sewer / Surface Water Division of the Public Works Department. <br /> <br />On September 9, 2002, Council authorized the appointment of Mr. Szurek to the <br />Parks Division of the Public Works Department <br /> <br />Discussion <br />Mr. Szurek is a member of the Public Works Collective Bargaining Unit. As such, <br />Mr. Szurek is subject to the job classification system, as established in the Labor <br />Agreement with the City of Mounds View. Mr. Szurek is currently employed <br />at the Level C pay scale, which is $18.92 per hour. However, based on the <br />criteria set forth by the Labor Agreement with the Public Works Collective <br />Bargaining Unit, Mr. Szurek is qualified to be at the Level D pay scale, which is <br />$19.32 per hour. Mr. Szurek currently meets all of the requirements for Level D, <br />except for the length of relevant work experience. Mr. Szurek will qualify for Level <br />D on November 1, 2003. It should be noted that these rates are based on agreed <br />amounts for 2002. The Public Works Collective Bargaining Unit is currently <br />working with the City to update the Labor Agreement for 2003. <br /> <br />The Parks Foreman has met with Mr. Szurek and conducted a formal <br />performance review. Mr. Szurek meets or exceeds all of the job performance <br />requirements for his position. The Public Works Director and Parks Foreman <br />recommend that Mr. Szurek be approved for the step increase from Level C to <br />Level D in the Parks Division of the Public Works Department. <br /> <br /> <br />
