Planning Commission Activity <br /> <br />As mentioned on the first page of this report, the Planning Commission has acted on 23 <br />planning applications and held countless discussions regarding pawnshop issues and other <br />generalized planning topics. In addition, the City Council had asked the Planning <br />Commission to review and comment on some possible code amendments which are <br />addressed in the Council’s 2003 Priorities document. <br /> <br />Here is a summary of the Planning Commission activity thus far: <br /> <br />1. Considered a request to restrict parking along the east side of Greenfield Avenue, south <br />of County Road I. (Four meetings) <br />2. Denied a variance to allow a reduction in the number of parking spaces required for a six- <br />unit multiple dwelling rental property (Two meetings) <br />3. Recommended approval of a text amendment regarding Chapter 1111 of the Zoning <br />Code pertaining to the R-O district <br />4. Recommended approval of a minor subdivision for a zero-lot line subdivision at 7656 <br />Silver Lake Road <br />5. Considered code amendments pertaining to pawnshops (Eight meetings) <br />6. Approved a variance to allow a reduced front yard setback for a new home at 7741 Long <br />Lake Road <br />7. Recommended approval of a development review request to expand a business at 2865 <br />County Highway 10 <br />8. Recommended approval of a PUD amendment for the parcel located at 2442 County <br />Highway 10 <br />9. Considered possible amendments to the Zoning Code relating to expansions of multi <br />family complexes (Two meetings) <br />10. Recommended approval of a conditional use permit for an oversized garage at 7988 <br />Edgewood Drive <br />11. Recommended approval of development reviews for projects at 2436 and 2442 County <br />Highway 10 (Two meetings) <br />12. Approved a variance for a reduced garage setback at 7375 Pleasant View Drive <br />13. Recommended approval of the acquisition of a parcel on County Road H2 <br />14. Recommended approval of a CUP for an oversized garage at 5220 Edgewood Drive <br />15. Denied a variance request for a parking lot setback at 2402 County Road I <br />16. Approved a variance to allow a reduced front yard setback for a home expansion at 2229 <br />County Road H2 <br />17. Recommended approval of a minor subdivision at 8430 Knollwood Drive <br />18. Approved a variance for Abbey Carpet for additional wall signage at 2214 - 2222 County <br />Highway 10 <br />19. Considered changes to the PF zoning district to correct zoning Inconsistencies (two <br />meetings) <br />20. Reviewed Council-suggested code revisions regarding minimum home footprints, <br />commercial drive-thrus, life-cycle housing amendments and a comprehensive zoning <br />revision <br />21. Approved a front yard setback variance for 2434 Hillview Road
