Public Hearing to Consider Resolution 6121, a Resolution Approving a 2 <br />Conditional Use Permit for an Oversized Garage at 7850 Spring Lake Road 3 <br /> 4 <br />Mayor Linke opened the public hearing at 7:33 p.m. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Community Development Director Ericson indicated that this item is a request for a conditional 7 <br />use permit for an oversized garage located at 7850 Spring Lake Road. He then indicated that 8 <br />Staff and the Planning Commission have reviewed the request and find that all requirements have 9 <br />been met and recommend approval. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Community Development Director Ericson indicated that the only stipulation on the approval is 12 <br />that the garage cannot be used for a commercial purpose, living quarters or any other use that is 13 <br />not allowed in an R-1 District and the building should maintain a similar appearance. He then 14 <br />said that Staff received no feedback regarding the request for this hearing or for the Planning 15 <br />Commission hearing. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Council Member Marty commented that the lot extends 200 feet into the lake and that limits the 18 <br />amount of usable property. 19 <br /> 20 <br />Community Development Director Ericson indicated that the lots on Spring Lake are platted 21 <br />through the lake and the City’s Code does not require that Staff use useable land when making 22 <br />calculations. 23 <br /> 24 <br />Mayor Linke closed the public hearing at 7:41 p.m. 25 <br /> 26 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Marty. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 6121, a 27 <br />Resolution Approving a Conditional Use Permit for an Oversized Garage at 7850 Spring Lake 28 <br />Road. 29 <br /> 30 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 31 <br /> 32 <br /> D. Community Development Department Quarterly Report 33 <br /> 34 <br />Community Development Director Ericson indicated that this report covers the first nine months 35 <br />of the year as he was serving as the Interim City Administrator for a time and was not able to 36 <br />provide a quarterly report for his department. He then said that for the first three quarters of 37 <br />2003 Community Development is under budget on expenditures and over budget on revenues. 38 <br /> 39 <br />Community Development Director Ericson indicated that there have been 23 planning cases over 40 <br />the course of the year. He then indicated that the City has recently hired a new Planner and she 41 <br />was introduced earlier in the meeting. 42 <br /> 43
