Here are lowest quotes I have obtained for the Compix system. This includes searching the internet and local companies. (Note, Markertek does not sell this product) Alpha Video $3,224 EPA $3,210 (monitor not included) Micro Media $3,149 (monitor not included) CTV $3,100 A suitable 17” computer monitor that is not included in two of the quotes: View Sonic A70f+ Monitor $179.97 (CompUSA) The quote of $3,100 from CTV is the lowest, and includes a 17” monitor. CTV custom builds the Compix systems for their own use, as well for other cities that CTV provides services for. Since CTV provides 100 free service hours per year to the City of Mounds View, CTV will also provide any maintenance or repair (based on warranty) for the unit. 6. Summary The current character generator has become unreliable and has affected the proceedings of meetings conducted in the council chambers. The need to replace the current C.G. with a professional model has become urgent. The funds to replace the unit are available with an increase appropriation for the Capital Equipment fund, using available funds from equity. A modern character generator will enhance the graphics added to televised meetings at City Hall, and should provide more reliable service.
