Monday, November 24, 2003 City Council Agenda. 20 <br /> 21 <br />City Administrator Ulrich requested that Item 8B be removed from the agenda. 22 <br /> 23 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Stigney. To Approve the Monday, November 24, 2003 Agenda as 24 <br />Amended. 25 <br /> 26 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 27 <br /> 28 <br />5. PUBLIC INPUT 29 <br /> 30 <br />David Jahnke of 8428 Eastwood Road indicated he watched the work session and is concerned 31 <br />about the $150,000 to operate the Community Center. He then said that there seems to be some 32 <br />Council Members that are in favor of taking over the Community Center but every time the City 33 <br />does something like this it ends up costing more than anticipated. He further commented that the 34 <br />City is not very good at running a business to make money. 35 <br /> 36 <br />Mr. Jahnke indicated that if the City takes this over there will be benefits and pay raises and 37 <br />comp time to pay. He then said that he would like the Council to be very careful about making 38 <br />this kind of decision because there have been bad decisions in the past and he would like to see 39 <br />better figures before jumping into this. 40 <br /> 41 <br />Mayor Linke indicated that Council has asked for the numbers and for a further investigation into 42 <br />the numbers from when the City had its own Park and Recreation department. He then 43 <br />commented that the City brought in $90,000 and the YMCA is bringing in an average of 44 <br />$40,000. 45
