major streets or in accordance with the City's sidewalk and trail plan, which <br />will connect several neighborhoods and community attractions in a logical <br />pattern; these improvements will not be assessed to the abutting properties. <br />(Ord. 654, 2-14-00) <br /> <br /> <br />Should the City Council wish to proceed with this project, Staff is looking for <br />direction as to: <br /> <br /> What scenario they prefer <br /> Where the pathway / sidewalk should terminate (Silver Lake Road <br />or the West City Limits) <br /> What will be the funding source <br /> <br />Should the Council wish to proceed, Staff will conduct a neighborhood meeting in <br />an effort to solicit public input. Staff will also meet with and discuss this project <br />with other governmentl agencies such as Ramsey County and the Watershed <br />District. This data will then be incorporated in to the report and presented to the <br />City Council for approval. Once the feasibility report and plans and specifications <br />have been approved, the next step will be to order the project. This would <br />become part the 2003 Pathway Project. Other pathway segments as directed by <br />City Council may be added prior to soliciting bids and awarding a contract. <br /> <br /> Recommendation: <br />Staff is looking for direction from the City Council pertaining to this matter. <br />Specifically, Staff is looking for direction regarding if the City Council wishes to <br />proceed with this project and if so what scenario do they prefer, where the <br />pathway / sidewalk should terminate, and what will be the funding source. <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Greg Lee, Director of Public Works <br />
