<br />Item No: WS-8 <br />Meeting Date: July 7, 2003 <br />Type of Business: Worksession <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: James Ericson, Interim City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Proposed City Code Amendment Relating to Hours of <br />Operation, On-Sale Liquor Establishments <br /> <br />Introduction: <br /> <br />At the Council’s last meeting, there was direction to have staff draft an amendment to the <br />City Code that would allow on-sale liquor establishments in Mounds View to stay open until <br />2:00 am consistent with the recently amended state law. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br />Draft Ordinance 717 is attached which amends the City Code to allow on-sale liquor <br />establishments to serve alcohol until 2:00 am. Our Code does not simply reference <br />Minnesota statutes regarding hours of operation so an amendment to our Code is necessary <br />to allow the Mounds View on-sale establishments to stay open until 2:00 am. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Discuss and direct staff accordingly. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />_____________________________________ <br />James Ericson <br />Interim City Clerk/Administrator <br /> <br />Attachments: <br />1.
