Item No.6F <br />Type of Business: CA <br />WK: Work Session; PH: Public Hearing; <br />CA: Consent Agenda; CB: Council Business City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Tim Brennan, Deputy Police Chief/Acting Chief <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution #5743 Approval of Funding Agreement for the DARE Program <br />with ISD#621 <br />Date of Report: April 8, 2002 <br /> <br /> <br />NATURE OF REPORT: Each year the Mounds View Police Department provides a police officer at <br />Pinewood Elementary to teach the 17-Week DARE Program to 5th Grade Students. Under an ongoing funding <br />agreement with Independent School District (ISD) #621 the City of Mounds View receives reimbursement <br />funding from ISD #621 under the DARE Tax Levy. The school district is authorized to levy $1.50 per capita <br />to be used to reimburse the city for providing the DARE Program. Per the formula, the City of Mounds View <br />will be reimbursed $9,913.00 for services provided under the agreement for the 2001-2002 school year. <br /> <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the Agreement for Funding of the DARE Program <br />with ISD #621 for the 2001-2002 school year. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br />_____________________ <br />Tim Brennan <br />Deputy Police Chief/Acting Chief
