Item No. 7E <br />Type of Business: CB <br />WK: Work Session; PH: Public Hearing; <br />CA: Consent Agenda; CB: Council Business <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Nyle Zikmund, Fire Chief <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 5764, Resolution in Support of Fire <br />Regulation 6-02, Governing the Sale, Manufacturing, <br />Storage, and Use of 1.4g Fireworks as Legalized by the <br />State Legislature and Signed into Law by Governor <br />Ventura <br />Date of Report: May 13, 2002 <br /> <br />SPRING LAKE PARK - BLAINE - MOUNDS VIEW FIRE DEPARTMENT FIRE REGULATION – 6-02 FIREWORKS <br /> <br />GOVERNING REGULATIONS: Fireworks are regulated by Minnesota State Statute 624.2. In addition to these <br />regulations all display, sales storage, manufacturing, and use of consumer fireworks <br />shall comply with this Fire Regulation. <br />1.0 Acts prohibited without permit. <br />No person, without securing a permit, shall do any of the following: <br /> <br />1.1 Manufacture, store or sell any fireworks; <br />1.2 Make a public display of fireworks; <br /> <br />2.0 Permit application. <br />The application for the permit for the manufacturing, storage, and sale of <br />fireworks shall be made to the Fire Marshal. A criminal records check and <br />determination by the Fire Marshal that the location where the fireworks are to be <br />stored or sold is not hazardous to property or endangers any person and that the <br />persons in charge of selling or storing the fireworks are competent and trained to <br />handle such fireworks must be made prior to processing the application. The <br />application for permit shall be accompanied by a letter from the person legally <br />responsible for the property on which such sale is to take place. Such letter shall <br />grant permission to the applicant for the use of said property. The application <br />shall include a floor plan designating the area for manufacturing, storage or <br />display along with a list shall documenting the name, weight, and quantity of the <br />fireworks within the building and be accompanied by the material safety data <br />sheets. Applications must be made a minimum of 10 days prior operating. Any <br />permit granted hereunder shall be nontransferable. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
