Mounds View City Council April 22, 2002 <br />Regular Meeting Page 18 <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Sonterre indicated the previous meetings had been under attended and asked residents to <br />attend. <br /> <br />Council Member Marty indicated he was not notified of the special City Council meeting on <br />Monday, May 15, 2002. He indicated he had been out of town and when he got home Saturday <br />night he checked his voice mail at home and at City Hall and there were no messages and he did <br />not receive a letter at home. He further indicated he had gotten a letter in his box at City Hall <br />and asked if not notifying him is a violation of the open meeting law. <br /> <br />City Administrator Miller indicated the special meeting had been discussed in closed session and <br />there was consent of Council to schedule the meeting. She then indicated she had agendas <br />mailed to Council as a reminder. <br /> <br />Council Member Marty indicated the Mermaid had its grand opening for the AmericInn and then <br />asked whether the meeting was posted because there were three Council Members that attended. <br /> <br />City Administrator Miller indicated that the meeting was not posted because the law does not <br />require that casual meetings be posted. <br /> <br />Council Member Stigney indicated he had attended the grand opening of the Mermaid. <br /> <br />Council Member Marty asked Finance Director Hansen if the check for the fitness equipment had <br />cleared. <br /> <br />Finance Director Hansen indicated he was not aware of it coming back from the bank and said he <br />assumes it is a good check. <br /> <br />Council Member Quick asked whether the City had received any money from Council Member <br />Marty on the bills he owes the City. <br /> <br />Finance Director Hansen said no. <br /> <br />City Attorney Riggs indicated there was a labor negotiation item that needs to be discussed after <br />the close of the meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Sonterre indicated there have been an increasing number of security related issues and <br />suggested it was time to consider a keycard system to enable the City to better track who has <br />access to what areas. He then asked Council to consider a motion to investigate the costs to <br />conduct a complete security survey of City Hall and the physical plant. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Marty. To Direct Staff to Investigate the Costs to Conduct a <br />Complete Security Survey of City Hall and the Physical Plant. <br />
