Mounds View City Council May 28, 2002 <br />Regular Meeting Page 11 <br /> <br />Director Ericson indicated the fee is to pay for developing parks and the idea is that more <br />development brings in more people that use the parks and the developers should share in the <br />costs to maintain and upgrade those parks. <br /> <br />Mayor Sonterre asked if Council had reduced or eliminated fees in the past. <br /> <br />Director Ericson indicated that a reduction of fees has not happened in the six years he has <br />worked for the City. <br /> <br />Mayor Sonterre closed the public hearing at 8:24 p.m. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Marty. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 5771, a <br />Resolution Approving the Preliminary Plat Request from Cedar Management to Combine <br />Properties Located at 7180 and 7190 Silver Lake Road. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />E. Resolution 5777 Adopting a Salary Schedule for the Assistant Clubhouse <br />Manager Position. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Reed indicated this was before Council because the City has settled <br />the contract with AFSCME and agreed to create a job description for this position, have it <br />repointed and provide salary information. She then indicated the salary would be retroactive <br />from June 16, 2001 to May 19, 2002 when the position was eliminated. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Reed indicated she had been told by the League of Minnesota Cities <br />that whenever a position is hourly the hourly wage should be presented. She then indicated the <br />hourly wage for 2001 would have been $14.07 and the hourly wage for 2002 is $14.65. <br /> <br />Council Member Stigney asked whether the time that the employee was on strike had been <br />subtracted from the pay. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Reed indicated that it had been. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Sonterre. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 5777, a <br />Resolution Adopting a Salary Schedule for the Assistant Clubhouse Manager Position. <br /> <br />Council Member Marty asked whether the amount owed to this individual for golf lessons <br />performed in the past was included in this amount. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Reed indicated the lessons were figured as part of the salary and <br />noted that the individual was not compensated dollar for dollar. <br /> <br />Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried.
