Mounds View City Council July 22, 2002 <br />Regular Meeting Page 36 <br /> <br />Mayor Sonterre updated Council on a pending merger of AT&T Broadband with Comcast. He <br />then said that all the consortiums that are using Mr. Creighton as their attorney are poised to fight <br />the merger and have been told that they will be sued by AT&T. He further indicated that Mr. <br />Grundhoeffer has indicated that this will be a long drawn out legal battle that will cost in excess <br />of $50,000 and suggested that the City may need to consider having an elected official on the <br />cable commission to represent tax payers as well as consider the option of showing support for <br />the merger rather than paying legal fees on yet another matter. <br /> <br />10. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />A. Minutes for July 8, 2002 <br /> <br />Council Member Thomas indicated she had a significant number of corrections she would like to <br />make. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Thomas/Sonterre. To Recess to Closed Session to Discuss Labor <br />Negotiations. <br /> <br />Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />Council recessed to closed session at 11:20 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Sonterre noted Council would adjourn from closed session. <br /> <br /> B.
