Mounds View City Council October 14, 2002 <br />Regular Meeting Page 18 <br /> <br />Mayor Sonterre commented that every site has a maximum capacity and that needs to be looked <br />at for this site. <br /> <br />Council Member Marty commented that he is concerned with potential liability for the City. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Lee said he is confident that the fill would have no adverse affect on the <br />adjacent properties. <br /> <br />Council Member Quick asked for an update on the system for pumping sump pump water into <br />the streets. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Lee indicated that Staff is surveying properties in that area to see how <br />they are discharging sump water. He then said that SCH has been told that residents along H2 do <br />not have sump pumps. <br /> <br />Council Member Stigney indicated that rather than rebroadcast the last Charter Commission <br />Meeting the Charter Commission has asked that the candidates’ forum be replayed during those <br />times. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Ericson indicated that there is a candidates’ forum scheduled <br />for October 15, 2002 at City Hall from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Sonterre reminded Council that he had won a drawing for a $500.00 donation for <br />recreational purposes at the League of Minnesota Cities convention. He then asked for <br />authorization to place the $500.00 in the park dedication fund. <br /> <br />It was the consent of Council to place the $500.00 in the park dedication fund. <br /> <br />Mayor Sonterre reported that the City was to receive a $2,000 donation toward the City’s annual <br />festival as part of the contract with the Visitor’s and Convention Bureau but he has learned that <br />the president of the Festival in the Park Corporation sent an invoice for $2,000 to them and was <br />sent a check that should have come to the City. He then asked City Attorney Riggs for direction <br />as to how to proceed. <br /> <br />City Attorney Riggs indicated it was his recollection that the money was to come to the City. He <br />then said he would review the contract and report back. <br /> <br />Mayor So nterre indicated that Pinewood held an open house on September 30, 2002 and said the <br />improvements were very nice and something to be proud of. <br /> <br />Mayor Sonterre indicated he had attended the Homeland Security Task Force meeting and the <br />turnout was incredible. He then said that various agencies discussed services available and the <br />next phase would be to work out joint powers agreements with other counties. <br />
