I received a phone call on Thursday January 24th from David
Freemore who is a resident of Mounds View. Mr. Freemore wanted to contact me and let me
know how impressed he was with the performance and professionalism demonstrated by Mike
and Tracy. Mr. Freemore worked with Tracy to schedule a meter sending unit repair at his house.
Mike came out and did the repairs. He commented on how polite and professional both were and
how Mike removed his footwear before entering his home and how clean and neat things were
put back once the job was complete. Great Job!

RECOGNITION OF PUBLIC WORKS STAFF
In the report section of the January 28th Council meeting, deputy Chief Brennan reported that the
front counter in the Police department was in need for repair. He got an estimate to re-laminate it
at a cost of $600. He went on to state that Public Works staff fixed the counter by using an oak
trim board and routering it at a cost of less than $50. Following Officer Brennan’s report, Council
Member Marty officially thanked the Public Works Department staff for going out of their way to
save the City money.

PW WEEKLY REPORTS
The Public Works Department has created weekly reports since the beginning of this year. These
reports contain a listing of activities performed by various divisions of Public Works: PW
operations, Parks and PW administration. They also contain information that is pertinent to the
operations of the Public Works Department. Much of this information was used to create this
quarterly report. Copies of these reports are available at City hall upon request.

PUBLIC WORKS 4TH QUARTER REPORTS Oct.-Dec., 2001
Water Department
• Pumped 104,805,000 gallons
• TKDA performed a leak survey throughout the City. 4 leaks were detected, 3
have been repaired.
• 6 Water Service repairs performed by Webster Co.
• All City hydrants were pumped and serviced for the winter season.
• Continued repairs on water meter reading system.
• Tree trimming at Wells 5 and 6.
• Rebuilt filter flow valve at Well 5; it was vibrating.
