I received a phone call on Thursday January 24th from David <br />Freemore who is a resident of Mounds View. Mr. Freemore wanted to contact me and let me <br />know how impressed he was with the performance and professionalism demonstrated by Mike <br />and Tracy. Mr. Freemore worked with Tracy to schedule a meter sending unit repair at his house. <br />Mike came out and did the repairs. He commented on how polite and professional both were and <br />how Mike removed his footwear before entering his home and how clean and neat things were <br />put back once the job was complete. Great Job! <br /> <br />RECOGNITION OF PUBLIC WORKS STAFF <br />In the report section of the January 28th Council meeting, deputy Chief Brennan reported that the <br />front counter in the Police department was in need for repair. He got an estimate to re-laminate it <br />at a cost of $600. He went on to state that Public Works staff fixed the counter by using an oak <br />trim board and routering it at a cost of less than $50. Following Officer Brennan’s report, Council <br />Member Marty officially thanked the Public Works Department staff for going out of their way to <br />save the City money. <br /> <br /> PW WEEKLY REPORTS <br />The Public Works Department has created weekly reports since the beginning of this year. These <br />reports contain a listing of activities performed by various divisions of Public Works: PW <br />operations, Parks and PW administration. They also contain information that is pertinent to the <br />operations of the Public Works Department. Much of this information was used to create this <br />quarterly report. Copies of these reports are available at City hall upon request. <br /> <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORKS 4TH QUARTER REPORTS Oct.-Dec., 2001 <br /> Water Department <br />• Pumped 104,805,000 gallons <br />• TKDA performed a leak survey throughout the City. 4 leaks were detected, 3 <br />have been repaired. <br />• 6 Water Service repairs performed by Webster Co. <br />• All City hydrants were pumped and serviced for the winter season. <br />• Continued repairs on water meter reading system. <br />• Tree trimming at Wells 5 and 6. <br />• Rebuilt filter flow valve at Well 5; it was vibrating.
