(1988 Code §52.09) <br /> <br />Subd. 2. Trapping: It is unlawful to place or set any trap or device designed to kill or capture a wild <br /> animal while trespassing on another person’s land within the city. No person shall engage <br /> in trapping on publicly owned lands within the City without possessing a valid permit. <br /> <br />a. A permit may be issued by the City Council to any applicant who <br /> can satisfactorily demonstrate the following: <br /> <br />(1) Applicant possesses a valid State trapper's license; or <br /> <br />(2) Applicant is under the age of sixteen (16) years and has completed <br /> a course in trapper education approved by the Minnesota Department <br /> of Natural Resources; or <br /> <br />(3) Applicant has at least three (3) years of previous trapping experience and <br /> has not, within the preceding three (3) years, been convicted of <br /> a violation of any trapping law, ordinance, or rule. <br /> <br />b. No person shall place or set any trap with a jaw spread greater than six inches <br /> (6") within the City. <br /> <br /> <br />701.07 8: VIOLATION OF PROVISIONS: Any person violating any provision of <br />this Chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
