<br />d.c. The roof and flashing shall be sound, tight and have no defects which admit water rain,. <br />and rRoof drainage shall be adequate to prevent dampness, water, or deterioration in the <br />walls or interior portions of the dwelling, multiple dwelling, or dwelling unit. from causing <br />dampness in the walls. Roof drains, gutters and downspouts shall be maintained in good <br />repair and free from obstructions. Roof water shall not be discharged in a manner that creates <br />a public nuisance. <br /> <br /> Subd. 2. Stairs, Porches, Railings, Sidewalks and Driveways: <br /> <br />. . . <br /> <br />b. Every flight of stairs which is more than four (4) risers high shall have a handrails on at <br />least one side of the stair. Handrails shall not be less than thirty inches (30”) nor more than <br />forty two inches (42”) high, measured vertically above the nosing of the tread or above the <br />finished floor of the landing or walking surface. Every open portion of a stair, landing, <br />balcony, porch, deck, or other walking surface which is more than thirty inches (30”) above <br />the floor or grade below shall have guardrails. Guardrails shall not be less than thirty inches <br />(30”) high above the floor of the landing, balcony, porch, deck, or other walking surface. <br />Guardrails are not required at any location where guardrails are exempted by the Building <br />Code.which are to be so located as determined by the Building Code, and every porch which <br />is more than eighteen inches (18") above grade shall have rails so located and capable of <br />restraining a horizontal pressure as determined by the provisions of the Building Code. <br /> <br />c. Every handrail and balustrade, and guardrail must be firmly fastened, and must be <br />maintained in good condition and capable of restraining a horizontal pressure as determined <br />by the provisions of the Building Code. <br /> <br />. . . <br /> <br /> Subd. 3. Windows, Doors and Hatchways: <br /> <br />. . . <br /> <br /> c.
