Mounds View City Council January 2, 2001 <br />Special Meeting Page 5 <br /> <br />Mayor Sonterre indicated there was one more vacant seat on the Park and Recreation <br />Commission, there are three vacant seats on the Planning Commission, and pending approval of <br />the Economic Development Authority all vacancies will be filled on the Economic Development <br />Commission. <br /> <br />Council Member Quick inquired as to whether there was a vacancy on the Police Civil Service <br />Commission. <br /> <br />Mayor Sonterre indicated he had spoken with the one member whose term is expiring and she <br />had not yet notified him as to whether she would like to seek reappointment. Technically, there <br />is a vacancy on the Police Civil Service Commission. <br /> <br />7. CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />A. Approve Just and Correct Claims <br />B. Licenses for Approval <br />C. Resolution 5504, to Accept LLEBG (PD) <br />D. Resolution 5505, to Renew Irondale Agreement with New Brighton (PD) <br /> <br />Mayor Sonterre asked the Council if anyone would like to remove items for discussion. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND. Quick/Thomas. To Remove Item D from the Consent Agenda for <br />Discussion. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mayor Sonterre inquired as to whether Council Member Quick had discussed Item D with the <br />Chief of Police. <br /> <br />Council Member Quick recommended approval of the Consent Agenda and then discussion on <br />Item D. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Stigney. To Approve the Consent Agenda for Items A through C. <br /> <br />Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />Council Member Quick stated he needed clarification on Item D. Council Member Quick asked <br />the Police Chief if the scopes and services of the City of New Brighton should be Mounds View. <br /> <br />The Chief of Police indicated the document had been compared with the original agreement and <br />the only change was the addition of the middle school. At the schools request, because New <br />Brighton provides that officer, the scope and duties are listed in the document. <br /> <br />Council Member Quick indicated he was having trouble with the language of the contract but <br />now understood and thanked the Police Chief for his input.
