Councilmember Blanchard: Concurred with Councilmember Quick's <br /> comments. <br /> Report of Mayor Linke: <br /> a. Made mention of a bill that could adversely affect the City's <br /> Cable franchise. Samantha Orduno stated that she was in <br /> attendance at the hearing for this bill when Senator Novak <br /> asked the PUC if they were in favor of this legislation. The <br /> PUC indicated it was not in favor of the legislation and the <br /> bill will not go any further. <br /> b. Legislative Congressional Conference was very interesting and <br /> he learned a lot. <br /> Report of Administrator <br /> a. Orduno indicated that she had good news and bad news. Good news is <br /> Carla Asleson is leaving the City of Mounds View to further her <br /> professional career. Bad news is she's leaving Mounds View. Carla <br /> will be the Assistant to the City Administrator in the City of <br /> Falcon Heights with her last day being April 7 . <br /> b. Cathy Bennett will start on Monday, April 4 as the City's <br /> Economic Development Coordinator. Orduno gave a brief <br /> background on Ms. Bennett. <br /> c. Jennifer Bergman will start employment with the City on Monday as <br /> the Housing Intern for the City. <br /> d. Orduno reported that a very beneficial luncheon took place during <br /> the—conference—as at-her tab-le—sat the Mayor o Ridgepor_t, Mo. and <br /> was willing to send the City information to help us with our Code. <br /> Mayor Linke reported that he sits on the CDBG Advisory Committee Board. <br /> Linke reported that the City had put in applications for two grants. <br /> Park and Recreation for $50, 000 for bathrooms in three parks. Money for <br /> two was received. <br /> $155, 000 was granted for senior housing to help purchase the land. <br /> Northwest Youth and Family Services was awarded $150, 000 to help purchase <br /> another building in order to more fully serve the community. <br /> Mayor Linke thanked Kraus Anderson, his employer, for allowing him the <br /> • time off to spend two days going through the grant applications as part <br /> of his position on the Board. <br />
