Mounds View City Council Page Two <br /> • Regular Meeting April 25, 1994 <br /> VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS: <br /> a. Mayor Linke read Resolution No. 4548 Commending the Irondale Math <br /> Team for Their Second Place Finish in the 10th Annual Minnesota <br /> State High School Mathematics League Tournament. <br /> MOTION/SECOND: Linke/Quick to Adopt Resolution No. 4548 <br /> Commending the Irondale Math Team for Their Second Place Finish in <br /> the 10th Annual Minnesota State High School Mathematics League <br /> Tournament <br /> VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> Councilmember Wuori commented that this is wonderful representation <br /> of the youth of Mounds View as well as the youth of the greater <br /> community and that there is never enough recognition given for <br /> scholastic honors. Councilmember Wuori congratulated the math team. <br /> Mayor Linke presented the math team with the resolution and <br /> congratulated the members on behalf of the City Council. <br /> IIIb. Mayor Linke read a letter from Dale Johnson, President of <br /> Active Research Investigations, commending Officer Roger Koopmeiners <br /> for his actions with regard to the Teamster strike incident at <br /> Churchill Truck Lines. Mr. Johnson stated in his letter that <br /> Officer Koopmeiners acted in a fair and even manner at the scene and <br /> did not take sides in the issue. Mr. Johnson further stated that <br /> Officer Koopmeiners did his duty with great personal risk, physical <br /> as well as political pressure, from the teamsters. <br /> c. Councilmember Blanchard read a letter from a resident commending <br /> Steve Dazenski, Parks Maintenance., for having a friendly and polite <br /> demeanor when dring wit—the public. Blanchard—stated that stomas <br /> quoted in the letter that Mr. Dazenski was the nicest City employee <br /> that the author had ever run across and he had appreciated being <br /> treated so kindly. <br /> Mayor Linke stated that these two letters are just a couple of <br /> of the letters that the City receives regarding its employees. <br /> Mayor Linke stated that he is very proud of these two individuals <br /> and that they are not exceptions but a standard of the type of <br /> employees working for the City. <br /> CONSENT AGENDA <br /> Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, read the Consent Agenda. <br /> 411 <br />
