• Mounds View City Council Page Two <br /> Regular Meeting May 23 ,1994 <br /> Saarion announced that the interview panel' s recommendation for the Golf <br /> Course Superintendent position was Mr. Kurt Johnson. Saarion indicated <br /> that Mr. Johnson comes from the City of Brooklyn Center where he gathered <br /> his experience during his tenure with that City as Golf Course <br /> Superintendent. Saarion presented a summary of Mr. Johnson's experience <br /> with golf courses and then introduced Mr. Kurt Johnson. <br /> Saarion summarized what duties Mr. Johnson would be undertaking <br /> regarding the golf course. <br /> Mr. Johnson stated thanked staff for the warm welcome that he received <br /> and that next year Mounds View would have the best course in the state. <br /> Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, added that Mr. Johnson had already <br /> attended meetings regarding the golf course, walked the course, met with <br /> the Golf Course Architect and the MWCC. <br /> CONSENT AGENDA <br /> Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, read the Consent Agenda. <br /> Mayor Linke asked if there were any items the Council desired removed <br /> • from the Consent Agenda. There were no item's removed. <br /> MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Wuori to Adopt the Consent Agenda as presented. <br /> VOTE: 4 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> RESIDENTS REQUESTS AND COMMENTS FROM THE FLOOR <br /> James R. Dahl, 5302 St. Stephens Street, presented a complaint about <br /> the house at 5308 St. Stephens Street. Mr. Dahl stated that the house is <br /> basically uninhabitable. Dahl would like to know if anything is being <br /> done about this property or if anything can be done about the property. <br /> Dahl—statedthatthe---bu 1d-ing inspector—had—inspected the--property--and <br /> there were seventeen items that needed to be corrected and that there has <br /> been nothing done. Dahl indicated that this property is rental property. <br /> Dahl lives next door and stated that this lowers the property value of <br /> his home. <br /> Mayor Linke explained to Mr. Dahl that the City has to follow procedures <br /> with regards to rental properties. Linke went through the steps that had <br /> to be followed when dealing with rental property. Mayor Linke explained <br /> that the City had an inspector that inspects apartments, but Linke was <br /> not sure if houses fit into the normal rotation of rental inspections. <br /> Linke further explained that the City does not have enough bodies to take <br /> care of Code Enforcement problems. Linke noted that the City is hiring a <br /> Code Enforcement Officer that will handle problems such as these. This <br /> 0 was a recommendation of the Focus 2000 task force groups. <br />
