The request presented to District 621 is for the cost to be shared equally between the City and the School District, each share amounting to $7, 000. Councilmember Trude expressed concern that the School District would deny the request to share the expense because that had been the custom historically. She asked what would be the strongest manner to ask for their help. Trude addressed any School Board Members that may be watching this Meeting to put some of their City and School District tax dollars into the flashing lights to improve the safety of the children coming and going to school. Wuori stressed the importance of these warning lights because of the high speed traffic coming off the freeway.
