Section 9 Redevelopment Plan, Highway 10 Corridor <br /> SRF CONSULTING GROUP, INC. <br /> February 10, 1997 <br /> • <br /> PARKS, OPEN SPACE AND NATURAL RESOURCES <br /> • Goa/#1: Section 9 will exemplify the City's commitment to achieving <br /> and maintaining open space for use by the community. <br /> o Objective: To promote the incorporation of public or private open space <br /> on development and redevelopment sites within the corridor. <br /> o Objective: To establish an image within the corridor that can serve to <br /> demonstrate to the broader community the importance of open space. <br /> o Objective: To encourage the reduction in the amount of hard-surfacing <br /> through shared parking arrangements in order to derive more useable <br /> open space. <br /> o Objective: To determine whether reasonable sites exist within Section 9 <br /> for the establishment of public parklands. <br /> • Goa/#2: The City recognizes the importance of its natural resource <br /> • base and will strive to maintain these valuable amenities. <br /> ° Objective: To incorporate sensitive natural resources into development <br /> plans in a manner that promotes the creation of on-site amenity features <br /> for enjoyment by the broader community. <br /> o Objective: To support the retention of mature tree stands on properties <br /> within the corridor where such woodlands can reasonably be incorporated <br /> into site design and will not significantly compromise the site's <br /> development potential. <br /> o Objective: To enhance existing wetlands in order to derive maximum <br /> aesthetic benefit for surrounding properties. <br />
