• <br /> MOUNDS VIEW CHARTER COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES <br /> January 2, 1980 <br /> I. Meeting called to order by Chairman, Bill Doty, at 7:40 P.M. <br /> The Chairman stated he called the meeting to ascertain whether or not the <br /> Commission felt, because of Charter opponents' concerns, that the Charter should <br /> be amended insofar as language was concerned in order to better clarify certain <br /> sections of the Charter, as in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, the Charter <br /> _ Commission may recommend to the City Council that they amend the Charter by <br /> Ordinance. <br /> II. ABSENT MEMBERS: Milan Illig Lave Notaro Jim Wills <br /> III. Motion by D. McCarty that the minutes of November 28, 1979, be approved as presented. <br /> Seconded by L. Nygaard. Carried unanimously. <br /> IV. The Annual Report of the Charter Commission to the Ramsey County District Court <br /> dated December 27, 1979, was read by the secretary. (Copy attached). <br /> V. Chairman Doty referred to Item X. in the minutes of November 28, 1979, and recom- <br /> mended the Commission approve the payment of $201.25 to City Attorney, Richard <br /> Meyers, as upon checking he found it to be a legitimate expense of the Commission <br /> due to charter discussions with Attorney Meyers. <br /> Motion made by N. Loeding that the Charter Commission pay Attorney Meyers $201.25 <br /> for legal fees. Seconded by W. Skiba. Carried unanimously. <br /> VI. N. Loeding presented to the Commission a sheet entitled "Possible Amendments to <br /> the Charter which could be Recommended to the City Council pursuant to Minnesota <br /> Statute 410.12, Subd. 7" for their review and comments. (Copy attached). <br /> Following discussion, it was the consensus that changes in the Charter were not <br /> necessary at this time, but felt the document as presented by N. Loeding could be <br /> presented to the City Council for their reaction. <br /> Motion made by D. McCarty that the document presented by N. Loeding indicating <br /> possible amendments to the Charter be passed on to the City Council for their <br /> review. Seconded by W. Werner. <br /> VOTE: (9) Ayes <br /> (1) Nay - - R. Beutel <br /> (1) Abstention - - C. Ziebarth <br /> VII. Motion made by W. Werner, seconded by W. Skiba, that the meeting be adjourned. <br /> Carried unanimously.
