Planning Cases <br /> <br />A. Planning Case CU 2006-009: Public Hearing to Consider a Conditional Use <br /> Permit for Storage of Flammable Liquids at 4815 Mustang Circle. <br /> <br />Planning Associate Heller reported this request from the Tyson Company is for a Conditional <br />Use Permit for Storage of Flammable Liquids at 4815 Mustang Circle. She stated they would <br />like to relocate Ferrellgas from its current location in New Brighton onto a portion of their <br />property at 4815 Mustang Circle. <br /> <br />Planning Associate Heller explained that the Tyson Company requested this be postponed until <br />the December 5, 2007 meeting. She stated this has been advertised as a public hearing and <br />recommended it be opened to hear comments from members of the audience. <br /> <br />Chair Stevenson opened the public hearing at 7:05 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Dale Tellers, Tyson Company at 4825 Mustang Circle explained why they are requesting the <br />Conditional Use Permit to relocate Ferrellgas. He explained they are looking to generate <br />additional revenue and would like to lease a portion of their unused property. <br /> <br />Commissioner Miller questioned Mr. Tellers as to why he postponed this request. <br /> <br />Mr. Tellers replied they need additional time to research the concerns expressed in the report. <br /> <br />Commissioner Cramblit questioned the storage of the trailers that are currently where Ferrellgas <br />is proposed to locate. <br /> <br />Mr. Tellers replied the equipment would be stored to the west of their building and they have <br />additional space available as they have downsized. <br /> <br />Mr. Neal Rovick, National Steel Fabricators at 4779 Mustang Circle, read a statement from their <br />business. He expressed concern for the safety and security of his employees and objects to the <br />storage of flammable liquids near his business. He provided several examples of explosions and <br />fires caused by propane gas. Mr. Rovick requested the Planning Commission deny the request <br />for the Conditional Use Permit. <br /> <br />Commissioner Gunn questioned the storage of the smaller propane tanks. <br /> <br />Fire Marshall Kathi Osmonson replied the storage of the small containers would require <br />additional research.
