" MGUPDS . iEVY PLANNING COAMAIS5ION <br />August 9, 1962 <br />1~~ <br />~ A special point meeting of the Mounds View Planning ~ <br />Commission and the Mounds View Industrial Development Committee <br />was called to order. by Chairman Stole at 0:20 P. M. <br />Planning Commission members present: <br />M. Stole C. Foreland <br />W. WaibeT G. Gustafson <br />P. Hlan:hard J. Sullivan <br />Dale Pallack, Paul E, Boog and Chris Piehowski ware <br />a.160 present. <br />Mayor Crane introduced Mr. Lawrence, President of the <br />Drooklyn Center. State Hank, who stated that the Kausel <br />Foundry, nok~~ located in M'nneapolis, wishes to expand and <br />is interested in locating in Mounds View. <br />Mr. Weibel of the Planning Commission, Mayor Crane, <br />and Mr. Hell of the Industrial Committee are *..o meet with <br />Mr. Lawrence and make a tour of the Foundry on Wednesdays <br />August 15, 1962 to sae it in operation and to see if it will <br />qualify to zoning standards. <br />~'~. The matter was ref9xred to the Planner regarding a <br />( ~' Quitable location.. <br />~.. <br />Mr. Andr,a.~ Sin~an Nraer~cd gralirinary plan'for a Motel <br />and Supper Ciub teat he wishes to locate nn Highway #10 at <br />Gxoveland Road. <br />MOTION by Sullivan that the Planning Commission refer <br />the. matter to the Council to sot a hearing for rezoning of <br />th9 property to an R-3 classification and that the, plans be <br />referred tq the P.Lannerfor his racommendation§ which he <br />should present 'it the ncrxt regular Planning Meeting. <br />Seconded by Blanchard. Mat ion Carried <br />It was auggeaterd, by the Planner that a special use permit <br />cot,td be uxied nr thb motel, <br />Chairman Stoic turned the meeting over to Mr. Jack Bell <br />Chairman of the Industrial Committee. <br />Mayor Crane stated that interest has been shown in the <br />Toner property, located nn Highway #B south of the Pinewood Club <br />as a possible site for a Drive=ln Theater. <br />Mr. Rebert'Waste read figures showing the amount of <br />taxes paid into the Village by 'the Rose Theater. <br />MCTION by Jim Johnson that the Industrial Development <br />Committee recommend to the Council and to the Planning <br />Commission that the proposal be a!,cepted if the Toner property <br />is the site chosen for the theater <br />Motion seconded and carried, <br />
