He explained that this is a separate issue from that of the fence, however, proceeding <br />with both of these matters simultaneously might be the most efficient means to resolve this. <br /> <br />Planning Associate Ericson suggested the applicant present her situation directly to the new <br />Police Chief. <br /> <br />Commissioner Berke suggested the applicant contact the Police Department regarding a Crime <br />Watch program, which has worked well in his neighborhood. He explained that this is a <br />program in which the Police Department and the neighborhood work in conjunction with each <br />other, and it provides some anonymity for those residents who may be afraid to contact the <br />Police. <br /> <br />Planning Associate Ericson stated staff would proceed with the direction provided. <br /> <br /> <br />9. Planning Case CU00-003 <br /> <br />Property Involved: 8038 Long Lake Road. <br />Discussion and Consideration of Resolution 616-00, a Resolution Contemplating a Conditional <br />Use Permit to Allow for the Construction of a 400-square foot Oversized Shed. <br />Applicant: Juanita Snetsinger and Shelley Hill. <br /> <br /> <br />The applicants were present. <br /> <br />Planning Associate Ericson gave the staff report as follows: <br /> <br />The applicants, Juanita Snetsinger and Shelley Hill, are requesting approval of a conditional use <br />permit to allow for the construction of an oversized shed in the backyard of their property at <br />8038 Long Lake Road. The area of the proposed shed would be 400 square feet, which is the <br />maximum allowed. The property, which is located in the northwest section of the City, between <br />Sherwood and Hillview Roads, is 18,480 square feet. <br /> <br />Planning Associate Ericson stated the backyard area of this property is approximately 11,000 <br />square-feet, which is similar to the size of the average City lot. He indicated the proposed shed <br />would be located approximately 150 feet from the house. He stated there is a small, attached <br />two-car garage on the property, which does not provide significant storage space, and there is not <br />sufficient room to expand the garage. The applicants are seeking a storage building of the <br />maximum size in which to house motorcycles, snowmobiles, and other items that can not be <br />readily parked in the garage. <br /> <br />Planning Associate Ericson stated there are currently two smaller outbuildings in the back yard <br />of the property. He advised that City Code prohibits more than one shed on a property,
