Planning Case No. CU00-006 <br /> <br />Property Involved: 4749 Old Highway 8 <br />Public Hearing, Discussion and Consideration of Resolution 619-00, a Resolution <br />Recommending Approval of a Conditional Use Permit for Enclosed Outdoor Storage. <br />Applicant: ASC Properties, LLC <br /> <br />The applicant was present. <br /> <br /> <br />Planning Associate Ericson gave the staff report as follows: <br /> <br />This item is a request for a conditional use permit to allow for outside storage on the property <br />located at 4749 Old Highway 8. The applicant, ASC Properties, operates their business, Ace <br />Supply Company from this location. The subject parcel is zoned Industrial, and outdoor storage <br />is allowed in the Industrial District as a conditional use. <br /> <br />Planning Associate Ericson stated the applicant proposes to construct a 1,920 square-foot <br />outdoor enclosure area in which to store PVC pipe. He indicated there would be a chain link <br />fence surrounding the area, with diagonal slats to block the view from neighboring properties. <br />He stated the subject property is the southernmost property in the City, and there are no <br />residences nearby. <br /> <br />Planning Associate Ericson indicated there is an industrial office/warehouse building located <br />immediately north of the Ace Supply Company building, and that property owner has contacted <br />staff to request additional information regarding the proposal. He explained that they had some <br />concerns regarding the outdoor storage, in that their offices look out toward the site. He stated <br />he was not aware if there has been discussion between the applicant and the adjoining property <br />owner to date, however, he was informed that this would occur, and therefore, these concerns
