MOUNDS VIEW PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 149-85 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING AMENDING CHAPTER 39 OF THE MOUNDS VIEW MUNICIPAL CODE ENTITLED, "SIGNS AND BILLBOARDS" WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has conducted a detailed study of Chapter 39 of the Mounds View Municipal Code entitled, "Signs and Billboards"; and WHEREAS, this detailed study made the following changes in the existing sign and billboard ordinance (the changes are reflected in the attached ordinance): I) Temporary and portable signs are not permitted. 2) Banners are permitted. 3) The roof sign section has been clarified. 4) The number and type of signs permitted by zoning district has been clarified. 5) Some definitions have been clarified. 6) One pedestal sign or one ground sign, not both, is permitted per one business lot. In addition to the pedestal sign or ground sign, the business lot can have one wall sign not exceeding 100 square feet of total surface area per business. 7) Any billboard destroyed by an act of God shall not be rebuilt. Any billboard moved shall not be relocated in the City of Mounds View. All billboards shall be removed by January 1, 1991. 8) Other sections of this Code have been clarified. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission believes that eliminating billboards from the City of Mounds View will improve the appearance of the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission recommends approval of the attached revisions to Chapter 39, "Signs and Billboards".
