MOUNDS VIEW PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 324-91 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 32 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE ENTITLED,"THE PLANNING COMMISSION" WHEREAS, Section 3.11 of the Mounds View Charter allows for the review and update of the Municipal Code; and WHEREAS, it is customary for the Planning Commission to comment on Chapter 32 of the Municipal Code; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has conducted a review of Chapter 32 of the Municipal Code. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning commission recommends the following addition be made to Chapter 32 of the Municipal Code: 32.09 Vacancies. Subdivision 1. Removal From Office. An appointed member of the Commission may be removed from office for just cause and on written charges by at least four-fifths vote of the entire City council, but such member shall be entitled to a public hearing before such vote is taken. It shall be the duty of the Chairman of the Commission to notify the City Council promptly of any vacancies occurring in membership. The Mayor, with approval of the City Council, shall fill such vacancies, for the unexpired term of the original appointment. In addition, an appointed member may be removed by the City Council for nonattendance at Planning Commission Meetings as provided in the Bylaws adopted by the Planning Commission or if a Commission Member does not attend 20 regularly scheduled meeting per year without the consent of the Commission. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Planning Commission directs Staff to forward this resolution to the City Council prior to approval of the minutes. Adopted this 2nd day of 1991. ATTEs'r: ./' ( SEAL)
