Reports of <br />Councilmembers: <br />Councilmember <br />Quick <br />Councilmember Blanchard had no report. <br />Councilmember Wuori thanked the Public Works depart- <br />ment for the good jab they did with the snow plowing. <br />Mayor Hankner announced the City dinner would be held <br />March 18, with further details to be forthcoming. <br />Mayor Hankner reported she had talked with Peg Mountin, <br />Chair of the Planning Commission, and would like to <br />have some joint Planning Commission/City Council meetings <br />on Saturdays, to work on the Comprehensive Plan <br />update. Meeting dates will be set later. <br />Mayor Hankner asked the status of the tax increment <br />financing for SYSCO. Clerk/Administrator Pauley <br />explained they are working on a final draft of the <br />agreement and they hope to have something ready in <br />early February. The bond sale will take place in March <br />and he will keep the Council apprised of events. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley reported the special elec- 19. <br />tion for legislative district 52A will consist of a <br />primary, if necessary, on Saturday, January 21 at City <br />Hall from 7 AM to 8 PM, and then a general election on <br />Saturday, February 4, again at City Hall from 7 AM to <br />8 PM. He added the City will be handling absentee <br />ballots, and he will ask the Council to call to order <br />at their next agenda session to appoint election judges. <br />He also stated they will be publicizing the election <br />as much as possible. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley reminded everyone of the <br />special City election, to fill the vacant Council seat. <br />which will be Tuesday, April 11 at the Bel Rae Ballroom <br />The term is for 1989 and 1990, and a write-up will be <br />in the next City newsletter. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley reported only four Public <br />Works employees had been available for plowing on <br />Saturday but they did a good job and were actually ahead <br />of what the County did. <br />• Mayor Hankner reminded everyone that City Hall would <br />be closed on Monday, January 16 in observance of Martin <br />Luther King day.
