M®unds View City Council October 9, 1989 Regular Meeting Page Two -------------------------------------------------------------------------- • Finance Director Brager reviewed the proposed 1990 budget, explaining the City is looking at a budgetary increase of 2.9~, with property taxes for the City remaining the same in 1990 as in 1989. He also reviewed estimated 1990 revenues for the general fund, as well as the schedule of published notices and public hearings which have been set. Mayor Hankner stated it is important that people understand the philosophy of tax calculations. She further stated her concern that the tax bill is not getting control of school spending. Mayor Hankner closed the public hearing and re- opened the regular meeting at 7:20 PM. Motion/Second: Paone/Wuori to set a public hearing for 7:0 PM on November 20, 1989, to reconvene on December 11, 1989, if necessary, on the 1990 budget. 5 ayes 0 nays Mayor Hankner closed the regular meeting and opened • the second public hearing at 7:22 PM. Ms. Hren presented an overhead of the address map and explained that Resolution No. 2501, which had been adopted some time ago for Mounds View Business Park South, had directed Staff to prepare an ordi- nance rezoning the property to a PUD, from Highway Commercial. There were no questions or comments from the audience and Mayor Hankner closed the public hearing and reopened the regular meeting at 7:25 PM. Mayor Hankner asked the status of the Woodale Drive extension, and whether the residents of the area are being kept informed. Tim Nelson, of Everest Development, explained an informational mailing was sent out last Friday, setting out the schedule for the work to be done in that area. Recipients were those provided on the list from the City, of those who had been notified of the public hearings. Woodale Drive will be kept open during construction, and it is scheduled to be completed by mid-November, the complete length from Edgewood to Highway 10. Motion Carried 7. Public Hearing: Request of Everest Dvlpt. to Rezone Mounds View Business Park South to Planned Unit Development • Mayor Hankner stated she had been to the site and it is very close to the ball field at Edgewood.
