Mounds iew City Council November 13, 1989 <br />Regular Meeting Page Five <br />------- ------------------------------------------------------------------ <br />Motion/ econd: Quick/Blanchard to accept the report <br />and ref r it to the Park and Rec Commission, Environ- <br />mental uality Task Force and Silver View Park Task <br />Force. <br />5 ayes ~; 0 nays <br />Motion Second: Paone/Wuori to change the location <br />~_ <br />of the parki g signs under Item 4 on the consent <br />agenda, from the east side to the west side of <br />Greenfield A enue. <br />5 ayes nays <br />Consid!rable discussion on the issue followed. <br />Jim Cater, 7660 Greenfield, stated moving the signs <br />to the other! side of the street is not going to help. <br />He sta ed there had been a flasher out over the week- <br />end, a'd they have had numerous problems with the <br />conduc of people in the apartments. <br />Mayor ankner noted the Council is trying to respect <br />the wi'hes mf the residents and the request they made. <br />• Clerk/,dmin~.strator Pauley read the exact wording of <br />the petition presented to the City. <br />Mayor Hankn~r stated that had the petition been worded <br />to not'have''parking on either side, the Council most <br />likel wou1~1 have done that. However, the request <br />was t (move the no-parking to the residents side of <br />the s reet, which is what the Council has done. <br />Arlen Ubeng e, 7594 Greenfield, explained he had started <br />the p titio , and his concern was getting the parking <br />off t e residents side of the street initially, and the <br />first 'step ould be to move it to the other side. He <br />sugge'ted if that didn't work, maybe limiting parking <br />to tw hou s . <br />Sandy--,'Uben ae, 7594 Greenfield, stated the intent was <br />to si;ply ove the parking across the street. She <br />added ,she elieves the residents further down the <br />stree hav more problems. <br />Mrs. cham erg, no address given, stated she felt <br />the p titi n was clear. <br />Mr. C rter agreed that would be a starting point but <br />it wo ld b better to not have it on either side of <br />the street <br />Motion Carried <br />Motion Carried <br />
