To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 5534, a <br />Resolution Approving the Certification of Three Police Officers. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />D. Resolution 5532, a Resolution Authorizing the Hiring of a Police Officer. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Stigney/Marty. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 5532, a <br />Resolution Authorizing the Hiring of Police Officer Kasey Keckeisen. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Thomas. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 5533, a <br />Resolution Authorizing the Hiring of Police Officer Jennifer Kuhl. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />Assistant to the Administrator Reed pointed out Resolution 5532 and Resolution 5533 were <br />amended to include compensation information and leave a window for start date. <br /> <br />Council Member Quick inquired as to whether Council will have to recertify a list and hire <br />another candidate if one of the chosen candidates does not accept the position. <br /> <br />City Attorney Riggs indicated Council Member Quick was correct. <br /> <br />9. RESIDENTS REQUESTS AND COMMENTS FROM THE FLOOR <br /> <br />Doris Heilman of 3034 Ardmore Avenue told Council she was at the meeting to remind everyone <br />that February 25, 2001 was the one year anniversary of when Brandon was hit on Highway 10. <br />She then stated she has heard a lot of discussion about a lot of projects and would like to share <br />her great disappointment that she has not seen any tangible changes on Highway 10. She also <br />expressed her concern that the children will have lost their awareness of the dangers with <br />crossing the Highway as time passes since Brandon was hit. <br /> <br />Mayor Sonterre offered the City’s continued condolences for her loss and explained that up until <br />his swearing in he served on the Highway 10 Redevelopment Committee.
