RESOLUTION 5525 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION FOR FIRE MOTOR OPERATOR JOHN DURKOT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, John Durkot has served as a volunteer firefighter for the past twenty <br />years; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, John joined the department on February 9, 1980 and was appointed to <br />the rank of Fire Motor Operator in June of 1981; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, John attended many special courses and seminars on various areas of <br />fire fighting including Fire Motor Operator and HazMat Awareness, maintained his First <br />Aid/CPR and First Responder certifications throughout his years of service, and served as <br />Station Three Engineer for many years; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, John received several awards including Awards of Merit as Outstanding <br />Firefighter of the Year in 1983, responding to the most fire calls at Station 3 in 1984, and <br />1993, for serving on the 40th Anniversary Celebration Committee in 1984 and helping to <br />restore our 1922 antique American LaFrance engine; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, John has responded to more than 2,150 fire calls and attended over 750 <br />weekly drills and participated in various public fire education events and station tours; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, John will retire from duty on April 16, 2001. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Richard Sonterre, Mayor of the City <br />of Mounds View, members of the Council, employees of Spring Lake Park/Blaine/Mounds <br />View Fire Department and residents of the City of Mounds View express our appreciation to <br />John Durkot for his devoted service as Firefighter and Fire Motor Operator. <br /> <br /> <br />Presented this 12th day of February, 2001. <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Richard Sonterre, Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />SEAL: <br />Kathleen Miller, City Administrator <br /> <br />
