Item No.8A <br />Type of Business: CA <br />WK: Work Session; PH: Public Hearing; <br />CA: Consent Agenda; CB: Council Business City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Givonna Reed, Assistant to the City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 5530 Setting the Start Date and Salary <br />for the Police Lieutenant <br />Date of Report: February 26, 2001 <br /> <br />Council Members will recall that at the February 12, 2001 meeting, the Council <br />appointed Tim Brennan to the position of Lieutenant. Missing from the approved <br />Resolution (Reso. 5526) was the start date and starting salary for Lieutenant <br />Brennan. <br /> <br />Staff recommends that Lieutenant Brennan’s start date be set at Saturday, <br />February 17, 2001 (the first day of the new pay period following the February 12, <br />2001 Council meeting). Back pay would be paid as applicable. <br /> <br />Mr. Brennan has served more than 20 years with the City and as the City’s <br />DARE Officer Mr. Brennan’s monthly compensation was $4501.47. The annual <br />pay scale for the Lieutenant’s position remains the same as under the previous <br />Lieutenant, $51,583.10-$64,478.88. Staff recommends that as Lieutenant, Mr. <br />Brennan’s monthly compensation be set at $4567.25. Upon a satisfactory six- <br />month review Mr. Brennan would move to Step 3 ($4835.92) and step increases <br />would be annually thereafter and contingent upon satisfactory performance <br />reviews.
