<br /> <br /> <br /> AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW AND <br /> MOUNDS VIEW PUBLIC SCHOOLS, INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 621 <br /> FOR POLICE SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER <br /> <br />This Agreement is between the City of Mounds View (hereinafter referred to as Mounds <br />View), and Mounds View Public Schools, Independent School District No. 621, <br />(hereinafter referred to as District 621"). <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City will provide an on-site police school resource officer at Edgewood <br />Middle School; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, District 621 believes that the services provided by a police school resource <br />officer at Edgewood Middle School will be of great benefit; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, District 621 wishes to have a full time police school resource officer at <br />Edgewood Middle School during the 2001 - 2002 school year; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, District 621 has indicated its desire to fund a portion of the personnel and <br />program costs for the police middle school resource officer; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, District 621 has determined that they will reimburse the City of Mounds View <br />for a portion of the personnel and program costs for the middle school resource officer; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual undertakings set forth herein, Mounds <br />View and District 621 agree as follows: <br /> <br />Scope of Services - City of Mounds View <br /> <br />1. During the 2001 - 2002 school year, the City of Mounds View will provide a <br />police officer at Edgewood Middle School, to serve as police school <br />resource officer. <br /> <br />2. The primary functions of the police school resource officer is as follows: <br /> <br /> a. promote a climate of physical and psychological safety that is <br />conducive to learning; <br /> <br /> b. serve as a deterrent to violence and crime by a physical presence in <br /> school; <br /> <br />c. provide a positive image of police officers to staff, students and the <br /> community as well as provide positive role modeling: <br /> <br />d. improve law enforcement relationships with the community and <br /> school; <br />
