Item No. 7B-3 Type of Business: PH WK: Work Session; PH: Public Hearing; CA: Consent Agenda; CB: Council Business City of Mounds View Staff Report To: Honorable Mayor and City Council From: Givonna Reed, Assistant to the City Administrator Item Title/Subject: Public Hearing to Consider Renewals for Intoxicating Liquor and Sunday Sales Licenses for 2001-2002 Date of Report: June 25, 2001 Section 502.08 of the City Code requires that a public hearing be held prior to the renewal of any intoxicating liquor license. All City of Mounds View issued intoxicating liquor licenses will expire June 30, 2001. All applicants for intoxicating liquor license renewals have submitted their city and state liquor license application materials, the applicable fee and proof of insurance unless otherwise indicated. The following investigations and inspections have been conducted to determine whether there is cause for the City to deny any of the applications for intoxicating liquor licenses: Health Inspections (St. Paul-Ramsey County Department of Public Health) The Department of Public Health conducts annual inspections of all restaurants. The Department of Public Health has issued a satisfactory report for this year’s intoxicating liquor license applicants. Police Inquiry and Investigations (Mounds View Police Department) The Mounds View Police Department has issued a satisfactory report for this year’s intoxicating liquor license applicants. Utility Billing Inquiry (City of Mounds View) The Finance Department has issued a satisfactory report for this year’s intoxicating liquor license applicants. Fire Inspection (City of Mounds View Fire Marshall) The City’s Fire Marshall has issued a satisfactory report for all applicants other than Robert’s Off 10. The Fire Marshall has mailed a certified letter to Robert’s Off 10 indicating that she is recommending that the liquor license be denied unless all outstanding order are abated by June 25, 2001 at noon. Staff will report to the Council at the meeting regarding whether the orders have been abated.
