Item No: 7C <br />Meeting Date: July 9, 2001 <br />Type of Business: PH & CB <br />WK: Work Session; PH: Public Hearing; <br />CA: Consent Agenda; CB: Council Business City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor & City Council <br />From: James Ericson, Community Development Director <br />Item Title/Subject: Second Reading and Adoption of Ordinance 684, an <br />Ordinance Rezoning 2625 Highway 10 from R-3, <br />Medium Density residential, to B-2, Limited Business <br />Date of Report: July 4, 2001 <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Dr. Kevin Barcus and Dr. Bruce Schnabel, having secured a purchase agreement for the <br />property located at 2625 County Highway 10, are applying for a rezoning to permit them <br />to construct a 7,000 square-foot single story freestanding veterinary clinic. The property <br />is currently zoned R-3, Medium Density Residential and they propose a B-2, Limited <br />Business district designation, which conditionally allows for veterinary clinics and animals <br />hospitals. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br />The Comprehensive Plan, originally adopted in 1979, identifies this property as High <br />Density Residential. The proposed Future Land Use Map in the draft Comprehensive Plan <br />currently before the City Council designates this parcel as Community Commercial. <br /> <br />The Council gave first reading to Ordinance 684 at the last regular meeting on June 25, <br />2001. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff and the Planning Commission recommend adoption of Ordinance 684, an <br />ordinance rezoning 2625 Highway 10 from R-3, Medium Density Residential to B-2, <br />Limited Business, as shown on the attached map. <br /> <br /> <br />_____________________________________ <br />James Ericson <br />Community Development Director <br />763-717-4021 <br /> <br /> <br />Attachments: <br />1.
