Resolution 5620 Establishing Public Hearing Dates for the Proposed General <br />Fund Budget and Tax Levy for Fiscal Year 2002. <br /> <br />City Administrator Miller indicated the state legislature had waived the requirement for the truth- <br />in-taxation hearing but said the City intends to hold a public hearing and this Resolution would <br />set the date for that hearing as November 26, 2001 at 7:05 p.m. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Thomas/Stigney. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 5620, a <br />Resolution Establishing Public Hearing Dates for the Proposed General Fund Budget and Tax <br />Levy for Fiscal Year 2002. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />E. Closed Session to Discuss Pending Litigation – Attorney Client Privileged <br /> <br />Council Member Thomas suggested moving the closed session to the end of the meeting to <br />accommodate staff members not needed for this discussion. <br /> <br />It was the consent of Council to move the closed session to the end of the meeting. <br /> <br />9. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />10. REPORTS <br /> <br />Council Member Marty reported he had attended the Minnesota State Fair and had watched Tony <br />Mortenson on his BMX bike. He then congratulated Tony on his skills. <br /> <br />Council Member Marty indicated he had received comments concerning the turf at the golf <br />course. He then indicated he had gone to the golf course and, in his opinion, holes 3, 4, 5, 8 and <br />9 are starting to look pretty rough. He further stated that it is the opinion of the pros at the golf <br />course that if the City does not start spending money on turf management it will end up costing <br />the City more in the long run. <br /> <br />Council Member Marty also pointed out that the individual who is responsible for maintaining <br />the turf is paid hourly and has been working a lot of overtime hours. He then suggested the City <br />needs to address the issue of possibly hiring him full time as a salaried employee for next season. <br /> <br />Council Member Marty then asked whether the golf course pros contracts were settled. <br /> <br />City Administrator Miller indicated the individuals that are now covered by the union were in a <br />status quo and noted the City will negotiate with them. <br /> <br />Council Member Marty questioned whether Chuck Chism’s last day is October 12, 2001.
