Mounds View City Council April 10, 2000 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br /> <br />Council Member Marty requested a correction to Page 5, first sentence, to indicate “…where <br />often the case is…” and to omit “…when to ask their attorney for advice.” <br /> <br />Council Member Marty requested a correction to Page 5, Item 7, sixth paragraph, eighth <br />sentence, to indicate “Elegant Thymes .” <br /> <br />Council Member Marty requested a correction to Page 10, third paragraph, third sentence, to <br />omit the word “not”, after the word “planned,” to indicate “it might not only be unnecessary…” <br />and to add the word “not” to further indicate “…but also to not make…” <br /> <br />Council Member Marty requested a correction to Page 11, seventh paragraph, last sentence, to <br />omit the second word “this,” to indicate “He stated this was discussed at the previous Work <br />Session.” <br /> <br />Council Member Marty requested a correction to Page 18, second paragraph, second sentence, to <br />indicate “1 to 1 ½ inches thick.” <br /> <br />Council Member Marty requested a correction to Page 19, fourth paragraph, to indicate “Council <br />Member Quick inquired if the City paid a fee for I&I reduction.” <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Thomason. To accept the March 27, 2000 City Council minutes as <br />corrected. <br /> <br />Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />5. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />6. REPORTS <br /> <br />Council Member Marty stated at the previous meeting, Interim Administrator Ulrich had <br />indicated the City was experiencing a rash of vandalism in the form of graffiti. He stated he <br />would like to reiterate this point, and make the citizens aware that it is not only occurring in <br />Mounds View, but also in the surrounding communities. He requested any citizens who witness <br />this vandalism to please contact the Police Department. <br /> <br />Council Member Marty reported he attended the previous Planning Commission meeting. He <br />stated this was a very good meeting, with a very good group of people representing the City. He <br />indicated some of the items discussed at this meeting would be coming before the Council in the <br />near future. He stated there was discussion concerning an addition at the Messiah Lutheran <br />Church, and continued discussion pertaining to billboard spacing. He explained that the <br />Commission would examine this matter further in the future, however prior to that, it would <br />come before the Council. He indicated Community Development Director Jopke provided the <br />Commission with a list he received from the League of Minnesota Cities entitled “Ten Tips for <br />Avoiding Land Use Claims,” and advised that this would be useful information for the Council to <br />consider as well.
