Monday, February 22, 1999, City Council Minutes <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Stigney/Coughlin. To Accept the February 22, 1999, City Council <br />Minutes as corrected. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays - 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />4. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />5. REPORTS <br /> <br />Council Member Quick had no report. <br /> <br />Council Member Marty reported at the last Parks and Recreation Commission meeting, City <br />Forester, Rick Wriske provided the Commission with an overview of the work he performs in the <br />City, and his plans for the Community Center and the area surrounding the realignment of <br />Edgewood Drive. He indicated that Mr. Wriske would attempt to save some of the trees that had <br />been planted in this area for relocation. <br /> <br />Council Member Marty advised that planting and landscaping projects are typically done in the <br />Spring and Fall, and the City Forester would plant on the north side of the Community Center in <br />late April. He explained that this work was not included in the landscaping plans for the <br />Community Center, however, Mr. Wriske would attempt to incorporate it into the project. He <br />pointed out that having this landscaping performed by the City Forester represents a savings to <br />the City of 80 to 90 percent, compared to the cost of a landscaping company. <br /> <br />Council Member Marty stated the Parks and Recreation Commission is researching the <br />possibility of installing two outdoor half court basketball courts at the Community Center.
