1005.08 1005.08 <br /> <br /> <br />Subd. 2. Lavatory: Every dwelling unit shall contain a lavatory which, when a water closet is required, shall be in the <br />same room with such water closet. <br /> <br />Subd. 3. Bathtub or Shower: Every dwelling unit shall contain a room which affords privacy to a person in said room <br />and which is equipped with a bathtub or shower. <br /> <br />Subd. 4. Kitchen Sink: Every dwelling unit shall contain a kitchen sink apart from the lavatory requirement in <br />subdivision 2 of this Section. <br /> <br />Subd. 5. Connection to Water and Sewer System: Every kitchen sink, lavatory basin, bathtub or shower and water <br />closet required under the provisions of this Section shall be properly connected to either a public water and <br />sewer system or to an approved private water and sewer system and shall be supplied with hot and cold running <br />water 16. <br /> <br />Subd. 6. Water Heating Facilities: Every dwelling unit shall have supplied water heating facilities which are installed <br />in an approved manner, properly maintained and are properly connected with hot water lines and which are <br />capable of heating and delivering water to such a temperature as to permit an adequate amount of water to be <br />drawn at every required kitchen sink, lavatory basin, bathtub, shower and laundry facilities or other similar units <br />at a temperature of not less than one hundred thirty degrees (130Ε) Fahrenheit at any time needed. <br /> <br />Subd. 7 Minimum Thermal Standards: No person shall occupy as owner occupant, or let to another for occupancy any <br />dwelling, multiple dwelling, dwelling unit, rooming house, or rooming unit for the purpose of living therein <br />which does not have heating facilities which are properly installed and maintained in safe and working condition <br />and which are capable of safely heating all habitable rooms, bathrooms, and water closet compartments therein <br />to a temperature of at least sixty eight degrees (68°) fahrenheit at a distance of three feet above floor level and <br />three feet from exterior walls. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> a. Portable heating equipment employing flame and the use of liquid fuel does not meet the requirement of this <br />section and is prohibited. <br /> <br /> b. No owner or occupant shall install, operate or use a space heater employing a flame that is not vented <br />outside the structure in an approved manner. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Subd. 8. Operation of Heating Facility: Every heating or water heating facility must be installed and must operate in <br />accordance with the requirements of the Building Code. <br /> <br />Subd. 9. Cooking and Refrigeration Appliances: Appliances used for cooking or refrigeration shall be installed and <br />maintained so they will function properly, safely and effectively. <br /> <br />Subd. 10. Deadbolt Locks: All exit doors leading to public areas or outside from all dwelling units and rooming units <br /> shall be provided with deadbolt locks. At least one deadbolt lock per door must be capable of being locked <br />from the exterior of said unit. For the purpose <br /> <br /> 16 See Section 906.01 and 907.02 of this Code for requirements.
