Mr. Frits also inquired as to <br />the City's regulations for placing streetlights. <br />Ric Minetor, Director of Public Works, response to Mr. Frits' question <br />was that streetlights are not to be installed closer than 300' <br />apart and, generally, are installed about 600' apart. <br />Streetlights are also installed at intersections. <br />Mr. Frits questioned the placing of streetlights on Long Lake Road last <br />year. Ric Minetor stated that these streetlights were placed in <br />response to a petition signed by approximately 50 of the affected <br />homeowners. <br />Samantha Orduno, City Administrator stated these two alternatives had <br />been brought to the City Council as information. <br />Mayor Linke polled the other Councilmembers to see if they would like <br />to go ahead and set up a date for an informational meeting. The <br />Council was in concurrence to set up a date for public informational <br />meeting. The date discussed to hold this informational meeting was <br />• Tuesday, November 12, which is the first regular meeting in <br />November. <br />Councilmember Blanchard asked if this is pushing too fast and, <br />therefore, would the City get a negative response from the public? <br />Blanchard stated it could be done next year and the budget could be <br />passed without it. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Wuori/Quick to set informational. meeting for Tuesday, <br />November 12, 1991 to consider alternative revenues for the City, <br />namely: 1) street light utility and 2) franchise fees. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Motion Carried <br />6. Samantha Orduno, City Administrator asked Tim Cruikshank, <br />Administrative Intern, to present the New Resident's Guide. Tim showed <br />the Council a sample of the guide and its contents. Tim indicated <br />that this guide would be given to residents moving into the City and <br />the guide would be available at City Hall to others wanting one. <br />Alice Frits, 8072 Long Lake Road, asked if the new apartment dwellers <br />also received this guide. <br />Tim stated that anyone who wants a new resident's guide can request <br />one or pick one up at City Hall. <br />• Mayor Linke commented that this guide was produced in-house by <br />Tun Cruikshank, Achninistrative Intern, and Sharie Linke, Parks, <br />
