Planning Case MU2017-001
August 2, 2017
Page 9

Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends approval of Resolution 1076-17, recommending approval of the
Development Review.

Recommendation
The Planning Commission is requested to consider the following options:

1. Resolution 1076-17, recommending approval of a Development Review of “Boulevard”, a
60-unit apartment building.

2. The Planning Commission may choose to recommend denial of the Resolution. If the
Commission chooses these options, Staff would need to be directed to draft a resolution of
denial with findings of fact appropriate to support the denial.

3. Table the request. If additional information is needed before a decision can be rendered or
if more discussion is needed, the Commission can simply move to table the request until
such information has been provided. MN Statutes requires that the City take action within
60-days (Aug 13, 2017), but allows the City to extend its review for an additional 60-days
(Oct 13, 2017), which the City has done in order to allow additional discussion by the
Planning Commission and City Council.

Please note, that if the Commission wishes to recommend any changes to the proposed plans,
The Commission should specify what should be changed, and for this to be included in the
Resolution.

Respectfully submitted,

________________________
Jon Sevald, AICP
Planner

Attachments
1.
