Mounds View Planning Commission <br />Regular Meeting <br />B. Staff Updates <br />July 20, 2016 <br />Page 4 <br />Planner Sevald provided the Commission with an update from staff. He explained a number of <br />residents have been asking for further information on County Road I. It was noted this project <br />would be completed in August. He reviewed the estimated water usage of a number of area <br />microbreweries in response to a question asked by the Commission during the July 6th Planning <br />Commission meeting. <br />C. Council Updates <br />Council Member Meehlhause provided the Planning Commission with an update from the City <br />Council. He reported the City Council opted out of the State legislation regarding family health <br />care dwellings due to code enforcement concerns. He appreciated the work the Commission was <br />doing on the accessory dwelling unit Ordinance text amendment. He indicated the Council <br />approved an environmental assessment of the Public Works Facility and additional funding for <br />the 2016 sanitary sewer rehabilitation project. Lastly, he noted the Council approved the <br />installation of cable for security cameras at City Hall. <br />D. Planning Commissioner Reports <br />Commissioner Love commented on the City's Comprehensive Plan update. She stated she was <br />interested in learning how Mounds View was becoming more diverse. She reviewed information <br />from the school district on the numerous languages being spoken in the community's homes. <br />She believed there was a serious concern with the mental health issues that the public schools <br />were having to deal with. <br />8. Approval of Minutes <br />July 6, 2016. <br />Commissioner Love requested a change on Page 4 asking that the word detached be removed <br />from her comment. <br />Chair Stevenson requested a change on Page 6 noting he offered congratulations to <br />Commissioner Klebsch on behalf of the Commission. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Commissioner Schiltgen/Commissioner Love.
